Lakes of Codington County

Memorial Day of 2013 – Memorial Day of 2014
We have all heard about how the glaciers formed the lakes in the Glacial Lakes region of South Dakota, but how much do you know about the lakes in Codington County?  This exhibit will feature maps, topography, Native American legends about the lakes, photos and information about resorts and much more.

Let’s Talk About the Weather

June 1 – December 31
Cyclones and blizzards and floods! Oh, my!  There have been many major weather events in Codington County history.  Learn more about weather monitoring techniques of the past and see photos of the havoc wreaked on this land by good old Mother Nature.

Railroad & Victorian Home Exhibit

The railroad exhibit is back and improved. Many people noticed the absence of the railroad exhibit at the museum this past year.  It was only a temporary absence while we figured out a way to make it bigger and better.  We have also moved the Victorian home exhibit to a new location.  It is surprising what new things you notice when things have been rearranged.

If you have questions or would like to reserve spaces for the spring meeting please email christy@cchsmuseum.org or call the museum at 886-7335.
